When we decided to open a small bookstore in January 2020 in hopes to share our love for books, sports cards, and a good story, we wanted to provide our customers with a warm, welcoming space where they could browse well-organized and well-curated shelves easily and comfortably, never feeling overwhelmed by too many choices or feeling claustrophobic by shelves being too close together. We wanted to offer those customers both new and used books, both hardcover and paperback versions, and offer books in a variety of genres from a diverse group of authors. We wanted to offer books at competitive and fair prices, and we wanted to offer a convenient location where customers could trade in their used books so they could make room on their shelves for more books, for more stories. We wanted to become the neighborhood bookstore, knowing our customers’ names and reading preferences, making helpful recommendations if asked. We wanted to build connections and encourage growth within our community. These are The Oxford Comma’s goals, and with your ongoing support, we will continue to strive and to achieve them now and in the future.
